August 25 Results of Texas Scramble

The results were in and they were not favourable to this writer so they will pay today!

38 were out today - 29 poor old sods and 9 cute chicks!
(My wife made me say that!)

FLASH NEWS
- Eaglepoint Seniors' Golf Club Championship
Wednesday September 15  8:30 AM Shotgun
You must have a handicap card
and you must have played three times
with the Seniors Group on Wednesdays to qualify
- two flights for men and one for the ladies!

Grand winners today for Texas Scramble were:
Laurel Gouthro, dragging Mr. Cool, and Mr. I can't get no respect! and that hot yoga fisherwoman.
Rob was apparently putting hot today and was proud of it!
Ok, Rob, enough already we all love a good putt!
Audrey was apparently warming up earlier
Audrey claims this is her favorite
part of the golf warm up!
Rutledge said, "I still can't get no respect!"
Laurel was just taking it all in stride
after all she beat Angus again!
And now you know how and why!

Three miserably performing teams were tied for 2nd - or does that mean they all came 4th?
Grace (I'm just here to keep an eye on Bill!) Brown, and Madeline (Yes I know he is Mr. He! He! He!) Robertson,
Rick (I just hit them long and straight - no problem!) Baker
was teamed up with
Shirley (Got to keep this place clean!) Wiklund.
They felt that a celebration was in order!
Another miserable sorry lot of 4th place losers were:
Barry Hill, Don Ozubko, Warren Cross and the guy that tries to keep up with Grace!
Coming second was tough on them!

Ron Heywood, Frank Barret and Frank Oulette were well positioned to do something good but they had to drag Dumont around the course!
You know how it is when you let Dumont drive!

After these "marvellous" second or fourth place finishers this team sparkled with talent and acumen!
They came in fifth but were apparently happy!
Well at least Ben was happy trying to strangle Jakel! He didn't pay enough apparently!
Gloria and Barb just took it all in stride!

Barb decided that a drink was in order after a tough round!
Finishing up out of the money were some very good golfers!
Mr. He! He! He!, Mr "Shanks R'Us!", Freddy Freeloader and Jeff Hamilton played marbles or something on the course!
They cooled off after the round!
Also finishing out of fame fortune and money were:
Angus (that dimplefaced ********er of a ball!) Gouthro, Judy and Arlene with one of our servers in the middle and finally Gordie  (I'm just here for the meal!) Craik.

They too ended up on the streets!
Jim Gordon, Andrea, Jack Mathews, and John (Yes I shot a 78 last week! Wore myself out too!) French were in a foursome but Big Bad John Campbell left before lunch!
Apparently the sandtraps were rough on them today!
Don Puhach, Larry Sill and Dave? finished out of the moolah and were in "good" company with
Dave Assmus, Dave Hay and Bob Peace.
Rather than diving in the water they just laid on the beach after the round!

Special token Senior of the week today went to
Grace managed a classic senior's moment by trying to break into Bill's car and managing to lock her keys in there and setting off the alarm for at least 15 minutes in the parking lot!
It's all just in a day's work Grace! She gets to practise lots more on the driving range!

Deuces of the week went to:
Dave Hay with two!
Angus Gouthro,
 and Arlene Sahlstrom!
They felt good about their big wins!

August 18 Results of UGLY Ball play

You know the drill!

The powers that be foisted this otherwise harmless game on to us poor unsuspecting old seniors!
The Power that be's is known as Old Socks!
Cause he's smelly and wrinkly!

The Black ball is always reserved for Dave "The Bear" Barker and by the way on July 14 I made an error on an entry for Dave and it was brought to my attention by someone and so I have corrected it and you can view it by scrolling down to previous posts and seeing Dave treed!
Laurel was kind enough to show us what to do!
She had  perfect control! Before the game started!

But in our hands pure gold turns to dross!
Because we can mangle anything --
-except for one team - a strange makeup to the team
but we will leave you to guess who shoots better than their handicap each week!
Freddy Freeloader,
Vic Benard,
John (yes it was an honest 78!) French
and Mr. Big
were the clear cut winners with
a team ball and low net score of 117.
Honestly do these guys have no shame?
It seems not! they took their winnings and were soon on their way home!
Does make you worried about our future generations!
However there were some fine and honest golfers out today - stupid too apparently!
In second place and tied were the teams of
Ron and Dave "I'm over my shanks now I think?" Barker
along with
Angus "the real player!" Gouthro and Doug "I can't get any respect around here at all" Rutledge.
as a team came in tied for second
(But as you can see
Barker knows how to celebrate anything!)
Joining them like kissing your sister were:
Somebody named Smith, Arlene (I just have to say jump and he asks how high!) Sahlstrom, Dave Haymeister, and Gordie Craik who was just here to eat?
They seemed quite pleased but a little bewildered by all the fuss of tying for second!

The real losers then came 4th.
There were two groups of them.
Mr. Cool, Mr. Hole in one, Mr. Straight and Far,
and Mr. He! He! He!
They took winning 4th a little too lightly!
Tied with them were the dynamic foursome?
The ever lovely Mrs. Dumont
who was being actively pawed over
by some old French guy,
Rick (Mr. Deuce and don't you forget it!) Baker
along with
How high do you want me to jump this time Arlene?
Puhach.
Here's how Dumont gets mixed up in the mornings!

Then there were some others who apparently were on the course but not on the same page as the rest of us.
Mark was being interviewed by Larry as to how high he could shoot while their third
Fred Persello had left
- an admirer though said that this picture shows
Fred in action when he was teaching!
Fred was known for his soft warm hands!

Also on the course were:
Laurel Gouthro, Old Socks, Judy and her Cross to bear.
It was a tough time on the course for them.
Laurel and Judy were out practicing another sport!
Old Socks and I am a Cross to bear
were once again depressed by their inadequacies!

Lest we forget - Mr Deuce AKA Rick Baker was hot again today! Boring golf!
Dave Haymeister was rollicking along on number 18 and by managing to bank the ball off the rock at the back and with incredible deft even control of his sidespin he put it in the pocket and won the Seniors token driving range of the week!
Apparently people admire this sort of thing?

Great shot Dave!

ANNOUNCEMENTS!
There were 27 out this week -
News on Weldon Steele - we came second to Rivershore
with 55 1/2 points.
Better luck next year if we can keep
Sill and Hay away from the bar.
Group therapy seems to be their problem.
