Some new golf lingo!

Picked these up from Phil's Fun Blog

New Golf Lingo.....
Some new lingo to use when you're out on the course...

A 'Rock Hudson' - a putt that looked straight, but wasn't
A 'Saddam Hussein' - from one bunker into another
A 'Yasser Arafat' - butt ugly and in the sand
A 'John Kennedy Jr.' - didn't quite make it over the water
A 'Rodney King' - over-clubbed
An 'OJ.'- got away with one
A 'Princess Grace' - should have used a driver
A 'Princess Di' - shouldn't have used the driver
A 'Condom' - safe, but didn't feel very good
A 'Brazilian' - shaved the hole
A 'Rush Limbaugh' - a little to the right
A 'Nancy Pelosi' - Way to the left and out of bounds
A 'James Joyce' - a putt that's impossible to read
A 'Ted Kennedy' - goes in the water and jumps out
A 'Pee Wee Herman' - too much wrist
A 'Sonny Bono' - straight into the trees
A 'Mickey Mantle' - a dead yank
A 'Paris Hilton' - a very expensive hole

they have an American slant so youcan play with the Nancy Pelosi and Rush Limbaugh ones!

Senior Ladies in the Mix! May 27

Senior Ladies are invited to join in the Seniors starting at 9:00 AM on Wednesdays!
If you have a gal who wishes to participate (50+) then give them a shout and get them out.
Ladies will have their own tee blocks to start from and are more than welcome to turn out - depending on the numbers the ladies will need to determine their prizes and winning orders!

The More the Merrier!

Dave and Lee May ready for a game at Eaglepoint!

May 27 Weldon Steel updates

May 21 - Rob Egan, Don (Albatross!) Ozubko, Ron Heywood and Erwin Nyfeller represented the club here at Eaglepoint against Shuswap Lake Estates Golf Course! It was a saw-off with each side taking half of the points 3 to 3. They are off to Shuswap Lake tomorrow. Good luck and good golf!

Generally at Weldon Steel competitions, we pay the green fees and lunch for the visitors ($20 green fees) and they reciprocate at their course!

Rob Egan, Don (Albatross!) Ozubko, Chick Nagel and Ken Robertson will be representing Eaglepoint on June 4 at Eaglepoint 9:00 and 9:09 AM against Rivershore.
They will play at Rivershore on June 11.

One small correction regarding the deuces, there was one other deuce by "Smooth Swinging" Jack Angstadt on May 27/09.

Next week we intend to have participants draw a number of a tee block out of the hat and you are put in foursomes to play a team game of either One, Two, Three or else a Texas Scramble format. This mix up will ensure that we play with some of the other members at least once a month!

Larry's prostate exam explanation can not be repeated here! Something about two hands on the shoulders?

May 14 Weldon Steel Trophy Match

Rob Egan, AlJakel, Ley McMillan, and Rick Baker went to Meadow Creek where it rained and hailed and sleeted and almost blew down the flagstaffs - they needed excuses as they went down to a crushing defeat at the hands of the Logan Lake Crew! But thanks for going out and giving it your all even if the greens were tough to putt on!
Last week they got 2 1/2 points at home and in the heights of Highland Valley they got one point and Meadow Creek/Logan Lake took the round 8 and 1/2 points to 3 and 1/2 for our guys!
Logan Lake was represented by Bruce Campbell, Ray Owen, Orville Humphrey and Jack Heitz! Thanks for the hospitality!

Teamball has openings for about 4 or more teams - throw your name in or make up a team and try it out May 23 and 24!

Eaglepoint Seniors Tournament is scheduled for June 24 - give Al Jakel or Dave Hay a shout if you can help out! Organizing Committee will be announced next week!

Overheard at the Pro Shop! Jeff was talking to a young lady who had taken lessons from him. She went out and returned about 15 minutes later. Jeff could see she was not happy and he asked her "What's up?"
She said, " A bee stung me somewhere between the first and second hole!"
Jeff's ever ready and professional answer was - " There you have it, I thought your stance was too wide!"
