July 30 Weldon Steel Results

This is how Egan and Baker handled their guys!

Robertson and May were put up the tree by their opponents!

Robertson and May got beaten like the proverbial rented mule!
They took 1/2 a point and
Glen DeGregorio and Pyayra ? From the Kamloops Club took 2 and 1/2 points!

Good news Rob Egan finally got his act together and along with
Rick Baker (who he apparently had to drag along at times!)
they took 2 and 1/2 points to 1/2 point for
Wayne Giesbrecht and Tosh Takenaka -
whose kid sister Kaz was a classmate of Robertson's in Grade 13 - many long years ago!
Small world ain't it!

Dave Hay was seen on the course today!

Dave Hay was on the golf course early returning from another "Hard" ride!

Dave said that at times he feels he takes risks but what the hell is another arm or so worth?
He might join us for golf next week with a real good handicap -
though the nylons might get him capped!

Larry Sill reports that Spullamacheen "BLARM"ed our team!

This was how the Eaglepoint team was BLARM'ed.
Beaten like a rented mule by Spallumacheen.

Larry Sill had a rough ride at Spallumacheen!

Don Puhach thought he was still working!

Al Jakel took it manfully? and walked off the course!

Bart Bye just said to hell with it and rode the bus home!

The return match at Spallumacheen was not in Eaglepoint Seniors favour.
Larry Sill reports that our gang got "BLARM"ed!
(Beaten Like A Rented Mule!) as you can see from the pictures Bart Bye, Don Puhach, Al Jakel and Larry Sill were not happy with the results!

Norm Romano won the Token of the Week

Not sure why he won the token but he gives a great picture!

Jorgen Sveistrup was always praying for a win and came second with a low gross 92! Swinging the way he does you would pray too!

Fred (Charmin!) Persello was the Second Flight Low Gross (86 so he shot his age?) winner but the camera couldn't catch his image today!

Weldon Steel Results

Larry Sill, Al Jakel, Ley McMillan and Bart Bye were out against Spullamacheen on July 16 and won! They play the return match tomorrow and dropped Ley MacMillan in favour of Don Puhach - Ley apparently was playing like the sailors on this boat! He! He! He!

John French was shooting the lights out today - he won the long drive and closest to the rope as well as the KP for hole #12 (He was the only one to land on the green in his flight!) That was the 0 - 15 flight! Rumour has it that none of these 4 guys hit the green!

Mark was so glad to win that he celebrated and then crawled home!

July 22 Results and the Future of Medicine

Click on the title to see one of the more remarkable speeches given by a Canadian that you will ever hear or see - rumour has it that Don Puhach understood every word this young (19) year old Canadian said!

24 golfers out - Lee May was representing the ladies! We need more out so shout and get your wife or girl friend out but not on the same day dummy!

It was a 1-2-3 low net format and 2 teams tied for first place! Congratulations to Dave and Lee May, Charlie Molloy, and ?Matthis - sorry don't have your first name! The picture I took was too blurry!
Tied with them was Al Jakel, Larry Sill, Bart Bye and Don Puhach.

Murphy's Rules of Golf

  • Whenever you think your drive will go right it wouldn't

  • Whenever you think your aim is right is not

  • Whenever you think you might finish a 9 holes play with one ball it wouldn't

  • Whenever you think you have a clear drive over water it will ditch

  • Whenever you think you might par you bogey

  • Whenever you think you hit the green you wouldn't

  • Rain on a golf course is Gods way of telling you that you're playing too slow.

  • Only good golf shots are ever spoiled by the most unlikely of events.
