Sixty-two out today - weather was perfect! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Door prizes today were won by:
Ken Robertson - Eaglewood Restaurant certificate!
Rivershore voucher for 18 - Mel Cassidy
(who went home early to babysit grandkids!)
Sleeve of balls was won by Carol Fitzmaurice.
Token of the week was awarded to Gordie Craik
for getting his arthritic bones up and out
and on the course this morning!
NEXT WEEK IS AN 8:00 AM Start!
Some housekeeping requests:
Please try to only have two powercarts per foursome
- the Pro Shop would like to keep the amount of traffic
on the course to a minimum!
Check around and consolidate carts before heading out on the course please!
Please give your email addresses to Ken Robertson
so you can read the news?
and find out who is being maligned this week!
Wheldon Steel Rivershore matchup from last Thursday!
We managed to win one point two weeks ago from Rivershore
thanks to Norm Romano and Peter Frew!
This past week Norm and Peter took both the front and back nines
and took three points. Marc Guertin allowed Ken Robertson
to ride home on his coattails and we swept Rivershore
for all 6 points so we won the cumulative by 7 - 5!
We have managed to build the club by doing team play
and everyone tossing their names in the hat
and being drawn each week in a random draw!
Unless you have a powerful reason
(friend visiting from out of town etc.)
we would like everyone to continue
with the social tradition
of just tossing their individual names
in the hat
and going out with whoever
they have been drawn with!
IF a couple wants to stay together
we will try to pair up the couples. OK?
The Player Assistant advised that a few openings started to grow between some of our foursomes and has asked if we can remind each other to "speed up the play".
We encourage Ready Golf and Ready Putting
- if you are ready - putt
and unless you are really away from the hole
continue your putting to the hole and don't mark every putt please!
When leaving the hole please walk quickly off
and jump on your cart
and put your putter or clubs away at the next tee box!
Thanks - these simple procedures can cumulatively take 20 minutes
or more off a round of golf!
Deuce Pot Winners this week were:
John St. Louis, Gerry Campbell, Ken Robertson,
Marc Guertin, Barry Gray and Ian Campbell.
In first place this week with a net 119 was the team
of Flavio Facchin, Laurel Gouthro,
John St. Louis and Ken Robertson.
This was sort of how they managed the round of golf today! Very carefully!
Second place was taken by Gerry Tresiera, Fern Gosselin,
Angus Gouthro, and Brian Rattray.
Nothing was going to keep Angus from trying to catch up to Laurel!
Now that's what we call concentration!
Third spot was taken by the team of Doug Rutledge, Mark Nadler,
Tave Dandy, and Louie Faisthuber!
Louie was still bragging about how he was so good
at work when he was a youngster
and we got another shot of him in action!
Two teams managed the proverbial kiss their sister routine for Fourth spot this week!
Jorgen Sveistrup, Frank Bava, Diane Mayo and Myles Hanke with 124
tied up with the threesome of Ley McMillan, Lorraine Zimmer and Marc Guertin!
As you can see Marc and Ley were ready to whoop it up with Lorraine!
Another two groups tied for 5th Spot with 125
- Dennis and Carol Fitzmaurice were with
Mel Cassidy and his wife
(they left early to babysit grandkids!)
Truth be known our ever present cameraman caught Mel being taken home!
Then Al Jakel, Del Macready, Gerry Campbell and Norm Romano pulled it together to tie for 5th as well!
Apparently just when they thought they had the game in the bag
some other dang thing would come along and ruin it!
In 6th Spot this week was this fine? team of John Pizarczyk,
Brian Dennis, Anita Romano and Terry Haynes.
Anita said it was just one of those restless rounds of golf!
The following groups were out and about on the course
- their purpose was sort of aimless but they had fun!
Bruce Betker, Dana Skoberg, Audrey Faulkner,
and Sandra Bava.
The Gorilla was clutching Pat Faisthuber
and Paul Sharp went along for the ride too!
Ian Campbell was so humbled by the day's action
he left early and Freddie Freeloader
and Myrtle Cadogan were left to take the blame.
Jim McCormack, Rob Egan, Don Puhach
and Bev McIntosh also hit the greens
- apparently too often!
Ken Rollier (hey watch my shades newsie!), John French, Heather Heron were on hand to help Phil Walls wander around the course.
Also around and about the course to no apparent purpose were Shirley Wiklund, Art Harms, Dave Assmus and Barry Gray!
Also wandering around punching holes in the sod and wondering when the Playoffs start were Sylvia Gobbi, Gene Mehr, Don Ingram and some fine lady who I got the name of but promptly forgot when I moved to the next table!
Sorry about that!
Last but not least cause any of the above could have been last too was the team of : unknown - dang someone email me her name!, Barry and Gordie Craik! He at least won the token of the week for ineptitude I think! He He He
Probably most of these groups could be summed up by this short shot!
Next week as there is a tournament the Pro Shop has asked us to start it up at 8:00 AM!
Please register with Don Puhach and Ken Robertson by 7:45 AM!
The game will be two Low Nets! CU on the course!
