There were 44 golfers out today and Dave Hay and Al Jakel
graciously handed out the marching orders - went something like
- you take one net score on the first 8 holes then 2 net scores on the next 4 holes
and then three net scores on the next 4 holes
and then all net scores on the last three holes
- sounded like fun right!
Ha Ha Ha the joke was on us!
Don't forget the starting time next week is 9:00 AM!
In case anyone missed it - Angus Gouthro thrashed out a magnificent 78 today!!!!!
Apparently he played the course somewhat like this! Way to go Angus!
Sandra Bava was out for the first time and had such a great time
she sent along a shot of her in action!
Thanks Sandra and we hope to see you around the course!
I mean hey if you have the talent then you go for it!
Deuces today were multiple!
Linda Angstad, Rick Baker, Dave Hay, Angus Gouthro (2 !),
John Dumont, Les Ekstrom, Myrtle Cadogan
and after he whinged for a while we gave one to Ken Nevins!
Token of the week was given to Heather Heron cause she did something
- I mean how come the women get the tokens for just looking pretty?
Dang Sexism - I'm gonna write a letter to a sympathetic editor on this one!
The door prizes were pretty short this week
- not sure what happened to the pizza prizes
but Hay and Jakel are starting to look a little chubby!???
18 Holes of golf at Revelstoke was "won" by Bruce Betker!
18 Holes of golf at Merritt was won by Paul Hindle.
Jorgen Sveistrup and Ken Robertson (Yippeee!) won the free Entrees
Here at the Eaglesnest Lounge!
Jorgen really goes for the watermelon!
Now we come to the main winners, weiners, whiners and whingers!
First on this day was this questionable group of Barry Hill,
Audrey Faulkner, Don Pooch and Dave Hay!
They had a tough time on the course and deliberated but finally produced a result!
Inn Second Place was the team of Barry Salonen, Al Jakel, Don Ingram and Terry Noftall.
Apparently these guys aren't used to winning so they had to really take a ride!
In Third spot was the team of Bruce White, Marilyn Peterson, Rick Baker and Heather Heron!
Marilyn and Heather were really pumped about their placing and it shows!
Angus (A 78! Unbelievable - He shot his age!)
Mr. Lucky himself (AKA Dennis Fitzmaurice - like where's my share of the $700 you won last night?)
Steve Walton (Isn't he one of the Wal Mart Heirs?) and
Myrtle Cadogan who let out a primal shout cause it felt good!
Linc sent on a picture to show what this means!
Hey Myrtle you shout great!
Tied with these puppies was this very questionable team of Jack Mathew,
Fred Hamarlund, Sharon and Ron Watson.
I used the term questionable cause Watson handled his tools with vigor in his prime
- caught a shot of him as an apprentice electrician!
Ron liked to light things up as a kid!
This group of miscreants and felons to be were in 6th spot all by their lonesome!
Apparently Vic Feere didn't stay around for the final shoot but Ken ,
Ken Rollier and Frank decided to bare their souls for the camera! Thanks guys - I think!
Fine forms on the course guys!
Appearing on the course and occasionally off it - read Robertson and Sveistrup in this instance - was the fine ( at least Anita Romano and Linda Angstad were fine!) group who shot a lot but fell down when it counted most!
Linda and Anita said that this seemed to be the game today!
On a much happier note, Anita decided to share a picture she had taken
from her recent wedding to that very lucky Norm Romano
and it shows how she has been improving her golf swing!
Keep the tee steady Norm!
Also on the course but sort of just checking the roughs and sand traps
was the popular group of:
Bruce Betker, Linc Cadogan, Phil Walls and the streaker herself, Shirley Wiklund.
Shirley showed her usual fine form and could have been in the money
if the guys could have kept up!
John Dumont appeared to be interested more with Paul Sharp's burger
than playing the course and Pat Faisthuber said she even took a bath on the course
- Sharp wasn't interested in adding to the conversation!
Pat loves her bath!
Les Ekstrom was just here for the burgers - Brian Whitehead, Paul Hindle
and Tave Dandy didn't want to share the best kept secret on the course
- Tave said it was very tasty however even if they didn't win!
Shocking what gals will do in retirement!
And speak about shocking - apparently Mark Nadler had a super new trick on the course and Del Macready and Sandra Bava were sort of impressed - Gerry Campbell was wise to not join in!
Hey some guys have it and as you can see some guys don't!
So there you have all the news fit to print for the week
- remember 9:00 AM next Wednesday and CU out there
on the turf rather than under it!
